Design with a purpose

Design has always fascinated me. Especially when it's sensible design with a meaningful purpose. Here is BU Potato Chips. The pack unfolds into a Chips bowl. Isn't that wow. Designed by three young designers Edda Gylfadóttir, Guðrún Hjörleifsdóttir, and Helga Björg Jónasardóttir, the pack looks like a Chinese takeout container and works like origami. Strategic design innovations often contribute a lot to the bottom line. A fine example here. Great job from Co. Design.

The changing role of Packaging Design

We all know the importance of packaging and design. Well, I won't get into the details but here are some uber cool examples. And here are some more cool designs.

Design has its own language. Design as visual art can often transform brands and its perceived imagery, even increase salience. Unfortunately we hardly get to see clients in India, experimenting more in this space. Am sure things will change for the good pretty soon.

Have fun.
